The Zu

Sports bar located right on the main drag of downtown Edmond. There is street parking in front, usually there will be a spot if not right in front then a few doors down, if all else fails there are surface lots off behind both sides of Broadway. About half of the inside space is taken up by the bar, the remaining half is your usual table/chair combos which while relatively plain jane, are padded and thus more comfortable then you might expect. There's a handful of booths as well should you so chose. The outside dining is quite comfortable, pleasant and is best for smokers of those who aren't in a hurry. Outside service tends to be a tad slower then inside. Out of sight, out of mind. The fastest service is at the bar, and while I didn't have any service issues I could see where if it got busy that the single server on duty that weekday could very quickly fall behind. There are some truly ginornomus projectors for teh watching of the sports here so if that's your thing, this is the place. If that's not your thing the dining area/outside seating is for you. Also you should reconsider living in Oklahoma a state where most of the population would happily go to actual physical war over the osu/ou football rivalry. The tap selection is a decent match of low to mid grade choices. the bargain darft is the "Zu" which in point of fact is coors, but hey it's a two buck draft. Very wallet friendly, and while coors isn't anything to write home about it's one up on natural light/pabst/whatever. The remaining taps are of better quality-anthem, tank 7 and strongbow aim discening neer drinkers, stella and blue moon for people who don't want to admit they like Budweiser. Decent selection of local brands. The spirit wall is similar-they well drinks are the cheapest possible, the high end selections are more middle end. So the well whisky is evan williams in a plastic bottle, their top selection is makers mark. None of these selections are bad news, and are pretty typical for the area. They do basic pub food pretty well-the burgers/fish and chips/other fried things are fairly awesome. Super awesome bonus points for the fried pickles. The more complex the menu item though the closer you will skate to disaster. Burgers, fries or nachos- great choice, no way to go wrong. Salads and/or a fancy reuben sandwich- risky, could go either way. Steaks, seafood or tacos? You are sooo gonna regret that. Yes they have a limited dessert menu, but a bar is the last place on earth where I'd order a dessert of any kind. If you are so inclined however, it's ice cream based stuff, and it's hard to mess up ice cream. Pricing is decent. It's entirely possible to get a lunch/dinner and a beer or two for 10-15 bucks depending on choices made. By and large this is exactly what is says it is- a decent place for ye old beer and burger action with the game large and in focus. At least until the second pitcher/bucket of beers kicks in.
